A boot is a piece of footwear enclosed at the top and that usually extends up the leg. It can also be just the upper part of a shoe. It is typically worn over the ankle, but some designs also cover the mid-calf or knee.

Combat boots are a type of boot originally designed for use in combat or by military personnel. They are generally made from leather or synthetic materials and feature a treaded sole for traction.
Combat boots have a shorter shaft than other types of boots, but they can still be stylish when worn with jeans or leggings in a casual style.
Knee High Boots have a shaft that is longer than that of an ankle boot but shorter than that of a thigh-high boot.
They can be made out of a variety of different materials, including leather, PVC, and suede, and are available in a variety of colors and styles. Knee-high boots are popular year-round, but they are especially popular during the fall and winter seasons due to their warmth.
Mid-Calf Boots have a shaft that extends from halfway up the calf to just below the knee. As the shaft is significantly longer than that of an ankle boot, they tend to be fairly tall and can often be worn with heels or wedges for extra height.
They are available in a wide variety of styles and are popular throughout the year.
Over-the-Knee Boots are a type of boot which extend all the way up the leg from below the knee to the top of the thigh. They can feature a variety of different shaft styles and heights; however, most over-the-knee boots feature a taller shaft than mid-calf boots.
They are very popular for colder climates where longer leg coverage is needed, as well as in the fall and winter seasons when they can be paired with thicker socks.
Thigh High Boots have a shaft that extends from just below the knee to over the thigh, ending just below the waist.
They can be made out of a variety of different materials including leather, PVC, and suede, and they come in a variety of styles including lace-up and zip-up varieties as well as platform boots or cowboy boots.
Thigh high boots are popular during fall and winter seasons due to their warmth, but due to their height they can be somewhat impractical for walking long distances.
Booties are an amazing way to style your boots especially if you're looking for a casual-chic outfit. Booties with jeans can also be worn with frayed hems, ripped hems, and even boot cut jeans as long as the booties are designed to go with the fit of the jeans.
The first thing you need to do is to find your perfect pair of booties out of all the available options. Check out your local stores or even online to look for a pair of boots that matches your style. Once you have the perfect pair, let's start styling it.
Most of the time, booties are designed to easily go with the fit of your jeans. The booties will either have a higher heel or a lower heel depending on the look you want to create. A higher heel will elongate your legs and create a more feminine look. A lower heel will create a more casual look as well as a more comfortable option to walk in.
Once you have chosen your booties, slide them on and wear them with any jeans you like. If you want a more chic look, then pair it with some ripped hems and some high slits. For a more casual look, pair it with some boot cut jeans or even frayed hems.
If you want to wear it with a frayed hem, then make sure that the frayed hem is above your knees or even above your calves. The booties should be able to cover the frayed hem as long as the frayed hem isn't too high up your jeans.
Make sure that while wearing the booties with jeans, the height of the bootie should be slightly higher than the height of your pants. A bootie that is too long and too low will make your legs look shorter and fatter. A bootie that is too high and too short will make your legs look longer and thinner.
The finishing touch for your outfit is the accessories you wear with it. If you want to go with a more casual look, then you can just wear some hoop earrings or even a watch. If you want to go with a more chic look, then you can wear some bracelets, necklaces, or even a hat to match your entire outfit.
This is a no-brainer and JUST DO IT! If you love boots, you must invest in a good pair of boots. It will be one of the best investments you have ever made.
If you are a guy and you love girls in boots, this is also a no-brainer and you must invest in a good pair of boots. It will be one of the best investments you have ever made.
You can never go wrong with a pair of black ankle boots, I mean just think classic! The problem is that a lot of the time these black ankle boots are way too plain, especially if you need to wear them on a daily basis. To avoid that you could always take a look at my post "How to Dress Up Black Ankle Boots" to see how you can dress up this basic style.
The biggest difference between these two types of boots are the heel, Cowboy boots have a higher heel (1-1 ½ inches) and Ankle boots have an average heel (~1 inch).
To be honest both style are great, but I prefer Booties over Ankle boots. When it comes to comfort, I still prefer Ankle boots over Booties because most Booties tend to be a bit more narrow.
That's totally understandable, but if you're looking for an affordable option that will still make you look great I recommend checking out my post "How to Dress up Basic Black Ankle Boots"
